Amnesia is located at 853 Valencia St., betweein 19th and 20th streets in the Mission District of San Francisco. Directions can be found here.

We’re open 7 days a week from 6 pm - 2 am. Happy hour is from 6 - 8 and tasty beverages are easier on the wallet then.

Booking Information

If you are interested in booking a show at Amnesia here are a few handy tips. Please DO NOT send us a promo pack via the mail unless requested. Waste not want not. Instead send us an email inquiry with the band/act title in the subject to amnesia1 (at) mac (dot) com or via our myspace account.

In your booking request please include vital information about your project including links to your music, websites, bios, usual band draw and prospective date ranges you are interested in for a show.

We receive many inquiries and respond to those that seem to be a good fit for our programming and schedule. If we’re interested in your stuff we will contact you. Typically we are booking 6 - 8 weeks in advance. If you plan on having a show with us, make sure you don’t book another show 2 weeks before or 1 week after your date with us.

If we book a show with you, promote the hell out of it. The more people you bring down the better it will be. Get us a poster and we’ll put it up, get us some flyers and we’ll pass ‘em out, send out an email but don’t wait until the day before to promote your great show!

What’s it like in there?

Amnesia is the little neighborhood bar that could. We offer an eclectic selection of music and reasonably priced drinks to a diverse crowd in an unpretentious and friendly setting. We’ve been voted best dive bar and best swanky bar back to back. We may or may not be a swanky dive but we certainly believe in good times and we want you to too!

We also love music and have worked hard to make this one of the best sounding rooms in San Francisco. We live for those intimate shows where there is a palpable connection between the performers and the audience. In 2007 JK Sound installed an entirely new system and, whether it be your favorite DJ or a secret show with someone way too big for our cozy red room, it sounds beautiful in here. Come down, have a beer and say hello.
